“Let Me Begin Again”: An Afternoon of Contemplative Writing with Noelle Oxenhandler

Feb 13, 2016

An Afternoon of Contemplative Writing to celebrate both New Year’s and Valentine’s Day.  Come before to schmooze and have tea. Workshop begins at 1:30 PM.

In this writing workshop, designed for both beginning and experienced writers, we’ll write our way through certain dark winter tunnels, heading toward the light of spring! By the time we leave, you’ll have a cluster of lovely writing–some of which may already have shaped itself into a perfect poem or little prose narrative, and some of which may be the seed of something longer that you’ll continue working with at home. Nothing more is needed than a playful and receptive spirit, a notebook, and a pen.

Noelle Oxenhandler’s most recent book is The Wishing Year: A House, A Man, My Soul. Her essays have been published in many national and literary magazines, including The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, VOGUE, and “O”. She is a member of the English Department at Sonoma State University, where she teaches Creative Writing. A contributing editor for Tricycle Magazine, she has been a practicing Buddhist since 1969.
